Position Overview
daves food stores is looking for enthusiastic and dependable individuals to join our in-store team as Cashiers / Stackers. This role is essential to providing outstanding customer service at checkout while ensuring that shelves are well-stocked, clean, and attractively presented throughout the store.
As part of the daves food stores family, you’ll contribute to a fast-paced retail environment where quality, freshness, and customer satisfaction come first.
Key Responsibilities
Cashier & Stacker Duties
- Warmly welcome customers and ensure a positive checkout experience.
- Scan items accurately and process payments.
- Issue receipts, handle refunds or exchanges per company policy.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and order at the checkout area.
- Respond to customer inquiries and escalate concerns when needed.
- Unload deliveries and organize items for shelving.
- Refill shelves, fridges, and displays with appropriate products.
- Rotate stock following FIFO (first-in, first-out) to ensure freshness.
- Ensure shelves are tidy, clean, and correctly labelled.
- Identify and report stock shortages or damaged goods.
- Assist in store cleanliness and general tidying duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in retail or customer-facing roles preferred but not essential (training will be provided).
- Strong work ethic and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Good communication in English and preferably Maltese
- Able to work on your feet for extended periods.
- Physically fit – able to lift boxes and handle inventory (up to 20kg).
- Punctual, reliable, and a team player.
